W6/SC-149 | Pinnacles National Park | North Chalone Peak

Last updated on 2021-09-26

This was my third activation in Pinnacles National Park, following Hawkins Peak on Friday afternoon, and a South Chalone Peak and North peak double on Saturday. In order to get to the South Chalone I had to nearly summit the North Peak earlier in the day, and was now back-tracking to the North Chalone to get my second set of points in the same day. After all the up-and-down-and-up-and-down-and-up, I was very tired. I would not recommend the double activation in hot weather: go in the off-season when it is cooler. A lot more people activate this North peak first and then decide to head back for a beer without attempting the South peak.
